About Tolani Maritime
Tolani Maritime Institute Pune, established in 1998, is approved by the AICTE and Directorate General of Shipping. TMI Pune is affiliated with Indian Maritime University Chennai. The college offers on-campus and distance learning courses in multiple disciplines like Naval Architecture, Nautical Science and Marine Engineering. TMI Pune Admissions are based on entrances. Candidates may apply online, for the same.
BTech in Marine Engineering is the flagship course of TMI Pune. To be eligible, the candidates should have cleared 10+2, TMISAT, and IMUCET. Only unmarried candidates are considered for admission to this program. The final merit list is prepared based on 10+2 scores, performance in IMUCET and TMISAT, Personal Interview, and medical examination.TMI Pune fees for BTech is Rs 19.33 Lakhs, in total. TMISAT consists of 80 questions divided into four sections along with a behavioral assessment for testing the aptitude of the aspirants.
Scholarships at TMI Pune are awarded based on merit. The Tolani Education Foundation has instituted 48 need-cum-merit based scholarships, with an amount of Rs 15,000. Mrs. Papu Tolani, wife of Dr. N. P. Tolani, awards one scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- per semester, for meritorious students in the Marine Engineering program. Vasant J Sheth Memorial Foundation offers three scholarships, based on merit cum need. Each scholarship is of Rs.30,000/- per semester thus totalling Rs.2,40,000/- for four years, provided the students maintain a 7 CGPA. Menghraj Karna need-cum-merit based scholarship for girls has been instituted to provide financial support to the identified girl students undergoing UG programmes, worth Rs 10,000. The Maritime Training Trust provides financial assistance of Rs. 100000/- per year to every woman seafarer undergoing pre-sea training at DG Shipping approved Maritime Training Institutes.
