NIFT Registration 2025

• NIFT conducts admissions through a national level entrance examination for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs

• Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.FTech) and Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs available
• Master of Fashion Management (MFM) and Master of Fashion Technology (M.FTech) for postgraduate students

For Undergraduate Programs (B.Des / B.FTech):

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks in qualifying examination (45% for reserved categories)
• No age limit for admission to undergraduate programs
• General Ability Test (GAT), Creative Ability Test (CAT), and Situation Test required

For Postgraduate Programs (M.Des / M.FTech / MFM):

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks in qualifying degree (45% for reserved categories)
• Relevant work experience preferred for management programs
• GAT and Group Discussion/Personal Interview (GD/PI) required

• Register online on the official NIFT website and fill the application form
• Upload photograph, signature, and pay the application fee online
• Download the admit card before the exam date
• Appear for GAT, CAT, and Situation Test as per your program
• Check results online and participate in counselling for final admission

General Ability Test (GAT) - For All Programs:

• Duration: 2 hours | Total Marks: 100
• Sections: Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability, and General Knowledge
• Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer

Creative Ability Test (CAT) - For Design Programs:

• Duration: 3 hours | Total Marks: 100
• Tests innovation, design ability, and creativity through sketching and visualization
• Questions based on observation, composition, color application, and design thinking
• No negative marking for CAT

Situation Test - For B.Des Shortlisted Candidates:

• Hands-on test to evaluate material handling and innovative skills
• Candidates are given specific materials to create a 3D model based on a theme
• Assessed on space visualization, innovative use of materials, and finesse of the model
